Accomplished Transportation and Logistics Executive Bob Biesterfeld Joins ATL Partners as Senior Operating Executive

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ATL Partners (“ATL”), a premier sector-focused private equity firm investing in commercial aerospace, national security, and transportation and logistics, today announced that Bob Biesterfeld has joined the firm as a Senior Operating Executive. In this role, Mr. Biesterfeld will work closely with ATL’s investment professionals and portfolio company management teams to support strategic and operational initiatives across the firm’s focus sectors.
Mr. Biesterfeld brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in global transportation and logistics. Most recently, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc., a global logistics company. During his tenure, he led one of the world’s largest third party logistics providers through a dynamic market environment, delivering strong operating performance and financial results. Prior to serving as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Biesterfeld held several senior leadership roles at C.H. Robinson, including Chief Operating Officer, President of North American Surface Transportation, Vice President of Truckload, and Vice President of Temperature Controlled Transportation and Sourcing Services. He began his career with the company in 1999.

Mr. Biesterfeld currently serves on the Board of Directors of Trinity Industries, a railcar manufacturer and lessor. Mr. Biesterfeld previously served on the board of directors of C.H. Robinson from 2019 to 2022. He also served as a trustee of the Winona State University Foundation and as a member of the board of directors of the Transportation Intermediaries Association. Mr. Biesterfeld earned his bachelor’s degree from Winona State University.
