Pilot Freight Services Appoints Darren Dodson: Vice President of Ground Operations

GLEN MILLS, PA – July 13, 2021 – https://www.pilotdelivers.com/ (Pilot), a worldwide provider of transportation and logistics services backed by ATL Partners and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), is proud to announce Darren Dodson as Vice President of Ground Operations. In his new role, he will develop, lead and manage all aspects of Pilot’s ground network to maximize efficiency, growth and profitability.

Dodson will oversee and be responsible for making sure freight is moving efficiently through Pilot’s ground network. In doing so, he has been tasked to determine the best way to move freight at peak season volumes. Dodson has implemented new systems to increase capacity by adding a mid-week sort at the company's hub in Groveport, OH, and is evaluating the need for additional hubs to strengthen the ground network.

Prior to Pilot, Dodson was Head of Operations and Logistics at Arta Shipping. He worked with ARTA's technology platform and a team of experts to connect users to a curated network of specialized shippers and helped streamline the company's high-end logistics complexities. Before Arta Shipping, he was at DB Schenker, working his way through the ranks from Manager, Land Transport to Director of Ground Distribution.

"Pilot's people, its reputation and the longstanding, trusting industry and customer relationships it has maintained over the years made this a perfect opportunity for me to join the team," said Dodson. "I look forward to working with them and driving us forward."

A graduate of Missouri Southern State University, Dodson holds a Bachelor’s degree with minors in Computer Information Systems and Network System Administration.

“Darren brings operational expertise to Pilot at a critical time in the growth of our company and as our industry is experiencing unprecedented volumes and capacity constraints. In addition, his deep industry knowledge and reputation as a motivating team member will be of tremendous value," explains Zach Pollock, chief executive officer of Pilot Freight Services.
